Lengthening speargun rubbers???

Got a twin rubber speargun I've been thinking of slightly
Modifying, I can just get the first rubber set but the second rubber is a constant struggle to get on so have been thinking of lengthening it by about an inch.
How much difference to the spear velocity do you think this would make? Basically it's no good now either I gotta take steroids to load it or modify the thing or sell and buy something more manageable.

Just lengthen the bridle a little till you're used to it, then you can shorten it up over time.

Yeah good call
Going to replace the rubbers anyway as they're looking worse for wear so I'll adjust the one bridle an inch.
Do you think it would affect the velocity enough to make it shit to use?

I got some from Adreno but they weren't listed this time, not sure why. They are called Super Frog inserts and pretty much allow you to adjust the length of your bridle without having to replug into the rubber. I've made up 2 spare rubbers that I now carry and replacing a broken one is as easy as tying the new bridle on and away you go.
Not that I've had to but you could also run a longer bridle until your rubber softens then shorten as required. Or you cound just wait for your arms harden up, but being a Power fan that might take a while...

Hey Kane, do you load your gun straight onto your chest an over hand grip on the rubbers ? I know until I was shown this method I had alot of trouble loding my gun when I first got it. See the link below.
Otherwise play around with the rubber length until your happy. Lengthening a little to be able to load it should be fine and you can always shorten it if you feel that it is lacking power. Just shorting too much can cause it to shoot high as I have found out. The other option is using thinner rubbers , not sure what you running now , just a bit shorter as they are easier to load but still pack punch. Twin 16mm can still shoot well.

Haha i had the same problem and just got told to harden up. I did put a skinnier rubber inplace but the gun lacked punch, however it did give me time to refine my loading technique and i went back to the bigger rubber and all's good now. I do sometimes get bruising on my chest from loading the gun if i dive lots of days in a row so i pad the front of my wettie with some semi hard plastic ( I have seen it done with a rubber thong ).

Kind of random, But 2 things
Kind of random, But 2 things that helped me when I started out were
1) Grab the rubber with your thumbs pointed towards your body, as opposed to facing away from you. Must be the use of a different muscle group in the differing method that made it work for me while I was strugling.
2) Load your rear ruber first, but do it in two stages. Load it onto the 1st notch, take a breather, get a comfortable grip and the gun where you want it, and then load it onto the rear 2nd notch.
I don't know why but it will just seem to get easier and easier the more you do it.
