Local Baldy bash with boat ramp rant
Launched from Hillarys this morning, normally launch Leeuwin but to save miles went north, standing in the launch lane 0545 preparing the Reefy through races a small SUV been driven like a stolen car by an Ice addict. What the f@#k is exchanged between myself and the boaty in the next lane. The car with body roll speeds into the front parking bay, out jumps a large bloke like Sheila running late to jump in the Trigg island surf boat with some good looking sorts waiting patiently holding up a lane. I pipe up with what the f@#k it replies sorry mate! Any way if any body has connections with this crew give them a bake as it was the craziest boat ramp shit I've seen and I have seen plenty. Glad I didn't have to fight the bloke shiela as she was pretty scary. Fishing wise caught 5 baldies really slow using fresh cuttlefish. Couldn't get the last so steamed home from 15 miles east at lunch.

not sure if I misunderstand
not sure if I misunderstand it but were they a volunteer surf rescue crew loading up for the morning?
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Think they were a surf boat
Think they were a surf boat team having a early training session. Cant underestimate the pace this car came through in the launching area. Obviously running late for training and not thinking about the surrounds. You see it everday on Roe Hwy but don't expect launching boats before 0600

Absolutely crazy
Hi Chinbald,
Good to see you lived up to your name and nailed a few fish..
I was the bloke in the next lane and can confirm it was one of the most dangerous things I've seen at the ramp.
The speed at which that thing came through there was ridiculous.
Lucky there wasn't some poor bugger pulling out of the ramp or they would have been cleaned up big time.
As far as fishing goes thought it was going to be a great day. ...first fish on ice by 7.30am.....dhu 750mm.
That turned out to be the last keeper of the day. Jigging and soft plastics only.
Coulpe of nice fillets and a good set of wings that went on the bbq that night so all good.

Thanks JimmyG
Good to see you got a good fish, as we fished hard with light gear and quality bait. The Baldies were very timid and did not see a Dhu of any size on usually productive ground.
