Loose reel in reel mount - need a fix
Submitted by stonedpirate on Sun, 2016-01-03 14:08
Hi all
I bought a second wilson MT8144 rod but this time its the alvey version.
The reel is loose when fully clamped inside the reel mount.
I tried putting electircal tape around the reel "feet" but its still wobbles around.
Anyone know a more permanent way to fix this?
Thanks

That'll be a fibreglass rod
That'll be a fibreglass rod which will not have cost a lot and low mount. Assume it's a 2 piece that you bought. Did you want to keep as a low mount? In any case I suggest you remove the reel seat and glue a new one in the position that you like to have. It's not hard to do but reel seat may cost more than your rod. Alternatively, just use hose clamp on the movable side on the reel seat.

Couple of cable ties will do
Couple of cable ties will do the trick at a pinch.
