Would there be anyone on this site that's willing to give me a call or allow me to contact them regarding information on planning a trip to the lower ord?

Just the usual stuff like what to not do and the must does.

my boats an 6m offshore so we're to go and we're not to go.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hey John, I fished there a couple of years ago though we stayed back in Kunna's. 6m boat is a fair size to tackle around (lots of shallow spots)but I'd get in contact with Hairy Dogs Fishing Camp along the Ord. Nice ppl (I also did a couple of barra charters from there)and you can camp there with a small group and you can launch there though I just dunno bout a boat your size as we had 12ft tinnys and just carried them down.
We went in mid-late September and the barra had only just come on the chew the week we got there as the water started to warm. But it was epic fishing, most dayz we were landing 30-40 Barra between 3 fisherman a day and you can keep 1 legal size barra per person per day which was more than enough. Lake Argyle is also worth a look as it is stocked now with Barra and 80cm+ have been caught in there already.
If you got the time and are a lil adventurous I highly recommend doing the 2 day paddle down the upper ord in canoes. You can hire the full kit and it's good good times.

Your option of going via Wyndham is more practical with a boat your size. Workmate fishes from mambi in a 4 metre boat and mentioned as it has dropped ( Spill way now at 1 Metre )that all sorts of nasty things have been showing themselves. Massive wet season has moved rocks, trees ETC.
Travelling into the Collins area only go in on a making tide, as sandbars in the lower sections are difficult to navigate.

Spillway is still running but the river has dropped. Was down there last weekend and there are lots of sandbars, rockbars and trees everywhere.  If you have a 6m boat would not even bother with the lower ord, head out to the rivers further out or even the berkely. A lot better places to fish then the lower ord this time of year.
