Hey fella's, I'm after some advice on the Lowrance 7HDI combo. I'm lookig at getting one for myself and was wondering if it's a decent unit? Im sure this has come up before on here but i cant find it. It seems well priced at $700 odd and comes with the gold card. Most of my fishing is 25-70m. Will this suit my fishing? Is the transducer that it comes with alright? Is it hard to install or should i take it to the shop? Any Advice would be great. $800 is my budget stretched to the limit for alternatives if you have any.
Merry Xmas
Jed

Good Unit
The HDS not only does not come with the tranny it is minus the map card as well. The Elites are the best value for money in the Lowrance range ATM and the unit comes with a good sounder capable up to 330m. Easy to instal but pay particular attention to the transducer procedure as this can affect the performance of the fishfinder especially at speeds above ten knots.

Great sounder but still a
Great sounder but still a bit small as a combo, I have one but would rather have 2 x 5 inch sounder combos as I did on my last boat, you could probably find 2 for a similar price second hand and its a lot more versatile
