Of making a few knife jigs from old stainless butter knives. For some colour and a flashy effect I was thinking of sticking on some yellow hi vis mining tape to each side. Plus a few eyes that are cheap enough at a craft shop or on eBay

Does anyone know what the deal is with UV reflective lures/paint?  UV light has quite poor penetration in water, significantly worse than visible light.  For sub-surface lures it doesn't seem like it would make much sense.

Hey mate I've painted a few of my ricters just recently, got stuck into the missus nail polish, I painted black lines  red gills one one and a red head with some glitters on bottom of another,

gotta use the top coat stuff after though,

also touched up a smiling jack I had that was almost white from abuse

I've though if nail polish but I thought it would wash off easy even with a top coat. Was thinking more along the lines if spray paint or grabbing a few if those small sample bottles from bunnings. Is there a certain type if paint that's best?

I've used normal (non-UV or ones that don't require a top coat) nail polish on plenty of lures (the UV nail polish needs to be cured with a UV light and then top coated which left me a bit pissed after spending $14 on a bottle to find it does not dry).  Normal polishes are fine for adding a splash of red etc.  Have also used clear nailpolish for tying flies or adding some feathers or flash to a treble instead of epoxy over the thread- works fine.  Even carry a bottle and strong cotton in the tackle box for quick fixes to rod eyes on trips etc.
