A few good KG's about, some good dhuies not too far past them.

No need to head out too far for a good mixed bag at the moment, reports in the shop have been quite good.

Good luck & stick to 25 to 35m and you should do ok.

Al.

I was out there last weekend, with Ozlobster and my bro. A few nice KGs, a legal dhufish, harlequin and as many skippy as we felt like pulling up with a few rat YTKs thrown in.

Good luck and looking forward to the report!

Maybe we need a section where we can go and see what everybody is talking about, in abreviations , all these different jigs, poppers etc don't do sports fishing so when you read posts can't understand half of what everybody is talking about???

thanks

snapper ban

Thu, 2008-08-28 20:18

You can go north of Woodmans Point for snapper,, so-west rocks, gravel patch off of power station in snapper ban time in the sound.  If you want more information go to fisheries in Mews Rd Fremantle, fishing boat harbour.

Mine take great pleasure in my lack of knowledge of the abreviated  form of the english language. But I get my own back when they ask me to spell something for them.

Yeah Albee said it was 5 kms from Pt Peron, Albee peddled 10 kms the other night in the river and sometimes we average 7 kms chasing the snapper,,,much get a lot fitter for 5 fathom,,,or get a tow out there, lol

I read a yank paddled 20 miles out to chase YTK and Dollies the other day ,slept for 17 hours after that little jaunt, lol

Mandurah report

Thu, 2008-08-28 21:23

The back edge of the FFB out of Mandurah is between 5 and 7 nautical miles out. Our last three trips out there (till referred to the latest one) saw a good mix of snapper, blackarse, 50cm plus KG's, the harly and dhuie, and a fair whack of 30 to 38cm skippy.

Old Traffic Bridge had some legal sized salmon trout at the bottom of the tide last week...incoming to top of tide should be better, haven't had a chance to check it out recently apart from early this (thurs) morning, when there was a heap of herring around. There should also be some slightly larger ST's at the estuary end of the Dawesville Cut, and again you need an incoming tide.

Mouth of the Cut had a bunch of tailor hanging around the edges of the dirty water from the outgoing tide last week as well, and they were hitting poppers and metals at first light, but had to work hard to get anything over 30cm.

Might also be worth throwing poppers around the offshore breaks, such as Horseshoe and Coventry's, for some bigger tailor. Hoping to take a shot this weekend.
