hello
iv just bought a penguin phantom with a centre console conversion
it has a 90hp yammy 2stroke
porblem is that i am not getting maximum operating revs out of it. it slowley gets to 25kn and peaks out at 4100rpm
the prop it has is a 13 1/4 - 17 stainless prop (im pretty sure that is just the factory recommended prop)
should get to 5.5k based on the yamaha web page
before i go spending money on props is there anything i should be checking first? motor sounds great and is not missing so isnt fuel related i think
i would also like to know if anyone who has had a penguin phantom how it went, top speed etc
cheers
travis

.
Same boat same donk lives in my backyard . 5500 rpm is bang on the money
33 kts is the best I’ve ever got out of her , really really flat water
Sounds like a linkage problem to me . Enjoy , they’re an awesome little bus I love mine to bits

I recently had a fuel pump
I recently had a fuel pump fail on my 2 Stroke HPDI. After replacing the 2 fuel pumps and the 5 million fuel filters I was stuck on about 4000rpm also when I could normally reach 5500, it still ran and sounded fine albiet a bit sluggish. Realising the plugs were probably fouled after copping a dose of oil through the fuel lines I then changed the spark plugs and got my 5500 rpm back.

Bog standard Yammie prop same pitch and sizes as yours yet in peasant alloy....:). You’re not carrying an extra ton of water by any chance ?

Interesting. All the things
Interesting. All the bungs are out
It does seem fairly heavy. I'm not sure how the hulls are designed
Surely water can make it's way out through the bottom bung?
Thanks
