Hey crew
Well my divorce is nearly finalised and yep , I've hit middle age, so I thought f*ck it I'm going to spoil myself with a boat, don't want ali only glass, looking at the Haines hunter 6.80 patriot, never been in one but reviews are good (except that punter who had a bad review , looks like he got a lemon) , has anyone been in one? How do they compare to the new hunter 6.75 offshore? Looking at hard top with minimum 250 hp, second hand , couple of years old.

680's are good boats but can
680's are good boats but can be a little pokey if there are no kill tanks. 250 minimum is cool, you'll find that will be ample power (probably the max anyway). I had one with a 250 and it went very well.

I fished out of one in this years Bluewater and was very impressed. We headed out from Ocean Reef and after 15 min or so it was only us and a large Boston still doing over 30 knots.

My mate has one, been out
My mate has one, been out many times on it, very tall solid hull, very seaworthy, couldn't launch it solo though, that is probably down the trailer though?

Haines
Hi Ricko. I have a Haines 625 Profish with 200 yammie. Absolutely love it and would definitely recommend a Haines. Rides beautifully and can comfortably fish 4. Good luck mate with the patriot/ offshore. Whatever you decide you will be happy

Deck space
You would get more deck space on the 675. The 680 doesn't have a lot of deck space for its size. I had a 620 which was the little brother to the 680 and the ride was awesome same hull as 625 profish. Now if it was me I would go the 675 or 650 classic offshore. but I wouldn't be unhappy with a 680 patriot if I got the right deal.
