I called that guy a couple of years back and he put me onto someone else who I used to service my box trailer bearings and I said to this guy to check my boat trailer which was at home. He went there and said they were all good an he'd repacked them. Last year I decided to do them my self after pulling of the grease cap I discovered this wanker had only smeared grease over the ends of the hubs and replaced the caps. When I got the hubs off the grease was just about burnt is was that old.Lucky for him I had lost his number. Just saying you need to check their work.

Hey Sammy
I am not much of a mechanic , but this job is piss easy. many helpful youtube vids out there.
I have hydraulic brakes to factor in, too.
Once a year overhaul for me now.
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

That's what I ended up doing.
That's what I ended up doing. Changed all the bearings and seats over as well as the brake pads. Now I know the job's been done properly and with care. For the bearing seats you need to find the right sized pipe to knock them in and out.

the best thing for knocking in and out old bearing seats are the old bearing and a correct size socket

I'm just a smart arse realy!
but the seat and bearing are hardened whereas a pipe may not be so they knock out easier

Martins Trailer parts
a good example of a business that has managed to keep itself relevant useful and competitive in this day and age of buying online.
Hard to go past them on anything to do with trailers.
I agree-do it yourself, if nothing else you learn how to deal with a problem roadside halfway to Exmouth!
