I was up there mid may and remember seeing it signposted that there was a fine for unattended trailers in the boatramp carpark.

It is a small parking area and people using it as a storage area for trailers and boats has pissed too many people off and the council has acted.

I was there in april and left my trailer secured in the car park near the DEC gate.  No trailer bar or  rego but name and phone number on the trailer.  No issues.

Yep Monkey Mia off the holiday list

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of coastal resorts that do not make adequate areas available for guests and their boats. Hello good people, just why do you think your guests come to a sea side resort. It's not to look at the sand, 99% are going to these sea side places to do a bit of fishing, granted not all will have boats but a hell of a lot will.

If you are a rate payer in these areas and particularly if you are a business owner I think you should be thinking about just what this sort of action is costing your business. Most boat owners do not mind paying a reasonable fee to use a launching facility that has fixtures like wash down areas fish cleaning stations etc.

If you want the tourist dollar think what you can do to attract it, negative actions like those described above do your location a fair bit of dollar damage, like I will not be having a holiday at Monkey Mia if I have to put up with this sort of crap.

Have a look at who you have elected to your council, are they helping your location in the long term.

 Got to disagree.  I have

Got to disagree.  I have been staying at the monkey mia resort since 2006.  There might be more to this story, but staying in the caravan park I have never been told to park my boat at the ramp.  Even in school holidays there has always been room at each site for a caravan or a tent AND a boat.  Even those who stay in the accommodation blocks have room for their boats on trailers.  The resort is very accommodating.  My post earlier about leaving the trailer in the carpark was my choice, not by the instruction of the resort.  Perhaps the boat was left in the commercial vessels only parking bays....  The resort is very accommodeling to boat owners...

could not agree with you

could not agree with you there randell if you stay in the onsite accomadation villas now you are not allowed to park boats in the resort it has only been in the last 3 mnths they have started to ask ppl to park boats on tralers out in the car park and it has only been in the last two mnths that the council has put the new sign up saying boat and trailer parking with the added writting no unattached trailers allowed seems like the coucil and aspen who run the park cannot come to a agreement over this issue if you stay in the caravan side you can park you boat next to your van but if you stay in villa they now  ask that trailer and boat be parked out in the boat trailer parking bay the issue is if you go to town where do you park your trailer i see no sence in doing the 25 klm to town and back towing a trailer boat that is where the council comes and fines you for leaving a boat trailer not connected to a car ,......
