Hi Guys,
Anyone from here planning of heading to the Montebello's from Dampier on the Easter long weekend?
Looking at heading over their with my mate in his 6.4mt fibreglass half cabin cruiser, 200hp mercury 4 stroke, depending on weather.
This is our first trip over there.
Done plenty of research on Fishwrecked from other people who have posted their trip reports, thankyou very much for posting.
Any extra advice would be much appreciated.

PM Pilbara Brad
Since he became a banana bender not on here as much as prior, but he will be able to help.
Also Adam, Lucky Tim (I think) and a few others have been there with Brad and I am sure others will advise.
Cheers

Good luck finding a spot to yourself. Goity to be pretty busy down there.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Watch the low tides
Hey mate,
I was in the convoy that made the trip over for Brad's last trip. We were there on spring tides and it was not fun trying to navigate the west side on the low tide.
We found it hard in a 6.4m Ali, especially in the inside of the reef but it was still worth it. Maybe try camp down the bottom of the islands so that you have deep water access on all tides.

google earth is your best
google earth is your best friend mate. heaps of info on here. any specific questions drop us a pm. lots of lads on here know a lot about the place, just depends what you are after
cheers
oh and echo what PC said, tides may be an issue on the west side, avoid traveling on the lows or at low light, some random reefness may just choose to ruin your trip otherwise

Thanks for the replies
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replies.
Google earth tip spot on, makes planning alot easier.
Never ended up going this time round, which was probably a good thing as the weather blew up over the easter weekend.
