Montes conditions for crossing next week?

 Hi guys

trying to get over to the islands next week - is this an OK time of year wind wise? or is it pretty much same same most of winter?

really would like to avoid a stomach churning slog there or back, we'll have a few days either end to wait out wind   8m ally hardtop

much thanks for any advice!

I went a couple of weeks ago and the trip wasn't too bad. Travelled from Dampier once the wind had dropped off.

If the weather is anything like this week it will be an easy trip over. Lately Evan when it has been blowing the nights have been ok so leaving real early could be an option

i'm about 20Nm offshore from the Monties at the moment and we've had some pearler days out here, much better than Karratha. Easterlies have picked up yesterday and today but they drop off in the arvo and it's near on clam at night, i'd suggest afternoon travelling if that suits each way, the winter rule of a high in the bight means strong winds from the east so keep an eye out for timing
