Was thinking about going to moore river for the weekend. just wanted to know what the boat ramp is like?? or is it a beack launche? iv got a 7.1m so a good ramp would be handy.

the groin is were they launch from and its a beach launch, gets pretty soft out there too, all of the towns seabird ledge and lancelin are beach launch unless they have done something in the last couple years. although lancelin is like a road should be no drama there

Not a good idea

From what I have heard, Moore River itself is not suitable for a 7.1m boat as it is considerabley shallow. The ramp there is adequate for smaller boats but the time I went up there the mouth was completely sandbarred.

Keep in mind, the ramp is in the river, not the ocean, and as David mentioned, you wont be able to go from the river to the ocean. So will need to beach launch at Moore (unless theres a ramp close by, which i'm not so sure there is)

Ramp

No ramp suitable for a 7.1m, would be better to put in at 2 rocks and drive up. Lano is your only other option(unless you have a tractor)- launched there on the weekend but was quite surgy getting the boat back on the trailer due to higher tide.

Ledge if you have a 4wd the beach is reasonable for beach launch and well protected. Too risky at Moore river did it once in a dinghy and nearly got rolled.
