Didn't see the catch, but did
Didn't see the catch, but did see a bloke carrying one up from the beach south of the Marina, was a good size too. Thought that was odd as I never see anyone fish there and haven't since.

North
Anywhere north will give you a chance. The further north the better but be careful as some areas have reef like the dog beach, so can loose a lot of gear. If you have 4wd you can get in north of the township where fewer people go.

I havent seen anyone fish
I havent seen anyone fish from the south side either alfred and have always wondered why that is, could be what iceman mentioned about the reefs or some other issue.. maybe its worth a shot one day, would your chances increase going further north or south ?
thnx for the reply

Mindarie
Gday Abz,
Welcome, I fished the south beach of Mindarie near the end of summer late arvo-evening and did quite well with my limit of decent size tailor with bites every cast and some decent hezzas (herring) & Im sure I was bitten off by a shark on my set line 80lb trace, 2 snelled hooks.
All in all I rekon its a good spot no probs with the reef just keep apx 100m south of the rocks only problem is its a good hike from the car park but I will give it another go. I have recently been doin some 4x4 trips to Two Rocks so I havent been back.
Deffinately try it out.

Hi Abz. I have fished from
Hi Abz.
I have fished from Mindarie for a few years now and that is one place I have never caught a mulloway. I have heard of people catching south of marina but not game to leave the car at the marina to walk down to the beach. From the maina we have had small pinkies, taolir, snook, herring, sharks of all types and flappers(rays)
But should you have a 4x4 try north of Jindalee is good with some nice gutters close in to shore.my best result was 2 mulloway in 2 days on tailor fillets.
I dont need counselling just a bigger boat

Thnx guys its great to hear from those that have tried those locations, would save alot of time..im really patient and dont mind waiting around with the line in, but it will save much much more time just hearing from people that have tried those spots before for years..

I used to catch them from the small rock groyne (northern most one) at South Beach. That was a looooooooong time ago though.

I've caught a few from
I've caught a few from beaches further north and also the rockwalls hold them reguraly if fished properly.. Winter is harder to target them because of the changed tide pattern but any beach with nice deep gutters close to a reef edge I've found works well, as for baits fresh is best and I always try to catch my own, either herring or tailor work well with loads of berley used.. Do a bit of research and they are easy to find once you figure out a pattern.
always looking for a new challenge!!
