my tub! need a lil advice...

 hey guys just after some advice if anyone can help it would be much appreciated. the timber slats on the bow of my tub need to be replaced and i was just wondering what is the best timber to use and the best sealant or varnish? live NOR if it helps.

+1 and plenty of lights coats. sand with very fine paper between coats.

 think ill stick with the timber, dont like tacky plastic. timber just looks alot better IMO. cheers wangler, owe ya one. just got the tub so tryin to pimp it out a lil.

you dont have to varnish it if you dont want to -it will just go grey - looks pretty good just grey - it wont mind being untreated, if you are cleaning it brush across the grain with salt water, avoid and chemicals as they will take the oils out of the wood and it will end up going grainy
its not cheap but is the best wood
You wouldnt need to go as thick what you have -reckon it would be nicer under foot if it was about 1/2 to 1/3rd of that thickness
