$&@%'n steering cables!

Three days of fishing, diving and snorkelling planned all stuffed by a broken steering cable...didn't even get 5 minutes out. BOOOOOOOO!

And it's only 2 years old!

Spend the extra coin and go hydraulic, less effort needed and nearly bugger all to maintain or go wrong.

I had one snap on me as I was lining up onto a jetty, ended up doing lazy circles in the harbour until I could flag down a tow! And removing the old cable & replacing was a nightmare.

Im a hydraulic guy now....well worth the money!!

We were lucky as we had

We were lucky as we had launched at Leeuwin ramp and were not quite up to the 2nd jetty, on the way to Rotto. The motor is a 75hp Evinrude Etec so it was easy to hand steer, just had to have some one playing with the controls for me.

Perfect parking job at the jetty though and the guy who had just rocked up appreciated the full day parking ticket....

I will look into the Hydraulic. The boat isnt mine, it just lives at my place.

As fun as looking at screaming goat videos on youtube is, it certainly doesnt beat the sound of bubbles, or drag.
