Deep jig 400 is a bit of a brute at both ends.

JigMan and Jigging Master Ocean Devil
The Eupro JigMan is an awesome rod and one that we have been using and stocking for quite a while. Its rated PE1.5-4 so on the lighter end of the scale though more than capable of handling most situations.
The Jigging Master Ocean Devil OH 50B ML is another top notch rod that at the moment is out for $315 for Fishwrecked members which is a great price for the rod.
If you wanted to go the T-Curve series we would suggest the 200 Deep jig. We have had no dramas with this rod and is has alot softer action to help absorb some of the blows. We do these for $250 for Fishwrecked members.

I have deep jig 200 on my torsa 16n. Good allrounder
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

the ties is a serious reel
reel not a light jigger. I agree the tcurve 200 heaps better and is what I use but if you want to land like big sharks and huge Sambos, 400 is for you, though this is rarely the case.
Go to a quality tackle store like oceanside or the fishing shop in Woodvale or allboats and pick a few up and bring your reel. Some cheaper good Rods out the too.
The jigging master above sounds like a great deal.
I would say t curve has a longer Fore grip.
Btw I prefer two piece rods for travelling and storage convenience which most don't prefer so I like the tcurve and fakes monster mesh got that reason too.
If using for bottom bouncing don't go too light for when you need heavy sinkers.
Torsa is a heavier reel than others so match it up before you buy.

I was thinking of blue water too
Great rod at great price.
If it feels good do it. Well sometimes anyway.
Had one and liked it.
