Just heard that new Zealand are going to shut down for a month . That should kill the virus. Off. Not a bad idea really.

A full shut down will only
A full shut down will only delay the inevitable unless they stay closed until it's all gone.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

how long before we do it
I think the shut down is to slow down the anticipated high demand on the health system, I do not understand how a shut down like this will eliminate the virus- just slow it down. Good on them in my book Aus should follow suit sooner rather than later

For WA - could be about the first time
That being the most isolated city in the world pays off for us.
Shut borders , lockdown a week before school holidays for a month and hopefully get a hold on this.

It’s to slow down the infection rate. Cut down hospital burden. Eventually all become immune by through contraction or vaccinations. Inevitably many more will decease. My dad is one of those in the extreme risk category

Shark Bay
Heard that Shark Bay have shut themselves off at Shell beach grid, there is already a big fence across to both sides of the peninsular so makes it easy to close the gate on visitors entering.
Very surprised on how many people are heading up to Coral Bay and they are not entirely overseas visitors, would just about bet that is the next place to shut the gate

They've been winding down
They've been winding down for years. 10% of the population have moved to Australia. About time they closed the place for good.

The biggest mistake we made
The biggest mistake we made was letting every Tom dick and Harry into the country without testing, we only just yesterday opened our first testing facility for this virus we are way behind other countries with our capabilities the virus is here now in great strength our only option available is complete shut down to minimise the growth. The side effect of that is job loss and small companies going under but the government should have thought about that 2 months ago when they had a chance.

Yep hardcore testing is the
Yep hardcore testing is the best possible chance to bring this under control bar a vaccine. Anyone who watched Q&A last night would understand this now. It's why Singapore is ahead of the game, theyknew from SARS etc you can't sit around until things start to go bad.
