Navionics card not reading
Submitted by moose hunter on Sat, 2023-12-09 10:09
Hi all, have navionics card (micro ) in lowrance hds9 live has worked great for nearly four years then started to stop reading, restarting the unit the card worked ok, but recently card stopped reading, have cleaned contacts with wd40, worked once and now does not read, have tried in second slot for card still no read. Saved my waypoints to new blank sd card then did a soft reset, still no read. Has any one had similar fault?

I got same response from lowrance, told me to call navionics, person on phone didn't seem too interested which surprised me as prior calls to help line have been great,I rang CH Smith in Melbourne who were great on phone and suggested I send SD card to them and they will check out card if corrupted which I am going to do.
interesting point they told me that most of there phone calls after lunch come from people on west coast WA
my unit has c map built into it, but navionics gives a lot more detail especially when looking for new ground,

Does C-map still work?
Does your c-map still work when this happens? I had same issue but was running C-Map only. The issue is with the unit not the card as I've tried swapping to navionics and same problem. Power off and power up again sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. It's been intermittemnt too, so most days it's fine, and occasionally it's a prick.
Still haven't solved it, I use the phone app as back up.

Navionics cards are such a
Navionics cards are such a rip.
If you have one that is faulty and outside warranty, you should NOT have to pay the licencing fee again which is 95% of the cost charged for a card.
You've already paid for the licencing, it should be something like card cost ($20) plus the 15 seconds it takes them to load it.
