Need help sourcing freezer unit

A mate of mine had a 200 litre esky with a small freezer unit bolted onto the lid that blew cold air through the esky.It was amazing how quickly it would freeze fish.

He had a problem with it and gave it to a fridgy to fix 12 months ago and has not seen it since.Cannot find the fridgy now.

He now needs to build another one but does not know where to get a freezer unit. The unit on the old one was like you would see on a very small cool room with a small fan blowing the cold air through it.

Can anybody help him out

Thanks.

eidis make drop in units Geoff Dixon is the man to call.0418 926159. I'm running two of his units in my cafe. Not the cheapest of things but mine have been running 24/7 for the last six and a half years. Bulletproof.

Waeco sell units

I built myself a fibreglass box unit using Waeco (Danfoss) components. Get online, they have a section of their website called Marine Cooling Solutions ..They are mix and match components mailnly aimed at installations into boats. I'm sitting at the airport at the moment, so can't quote exact model numbers,(CU94 with a VD16 evaporator?) but I matched a motor/compressor unit with a blower condensor. Total component costs were something like $1300?. It sits off the end of a fibreglasss 130l box, freezes very quickly with relatively low power draw, around 4.5 amps when running, 7.5 on start.(12v) Almost exactly the same as the 80 litre Waeco running as a fridge, it just runs more often. They run a service where you can enquire about configurations, I emailed them my thoughts about different units to match, and gave them the insulation thickness, and they got straight back to me giving power consumption figures and freezing capacity-apparerntly mine will freeze to 200 litres Added one of those Mobetronic units  for power management, so you can plug them into 12/24/240 v and they will auto select 240 if it is available, great little setup. Take it to Ningaloo each year with two cartons of gar and some mulies, bring it back with the of fillets each, plus it does domestic duties throughout the year in the shed.

I made the box and fitted the units, and gave it to a fridgie to commission--he said i could have done it myself, they are pregassed, just need to hand-bend the tubing to suit, make the connections, and fire it up.
