NEW ARRIVALS CRONY RODS
Hey all
We just recieved a limited amount of CRONY rods in, im really impressed with the quality of the rods and equipment used on them. We are the first people to have this great range in so drop in and check them out before they sell out.
The introduction of the PRODIGY series:
PRODIGY,This series derives from the expectation of our design group who want to transcend themselves to satisfy fishermen.
It can give you miracle when fishing.
This series is developed for the freshwater fish ‘snakehead’ which is ferocious and maneating. The blank is made of high modulus carbon from ‘TORAY’, with the concept of ‘BESTER MASTER’ in mind; the whole rod is wrapped with carbon tape closely without clearance. Which make it lighter, stiffer, and flexile
This series has the following distinctive features:
The blank is made of high modulus pure carbon and strengthened with a special checked carbon cloth, showing our concept of ‘BESTER MASTER’, the blank is stronger and flexile.
Enhanced FUJI T-DPS reel seat and FUJI ACONITE guide from FUJI industry-- the best fishing components maker, the best quality.
Transparent black and matt black combined artwork looks more solemn and fashionable.
Use chameleonic thread imported from JAPAN, which (the window part) can give you beautiful visual image.
The grip is made of pure natural cork imported from Portugal, lighter and comfortable.
No paint at the joint part, no paint peeling and defect match trouble.
Only by choosing ‘PRODIGY’, can you make prodigy!

The GSU702M would be alright
The GSU702M would be alright for those applications but also on the heavy side, I have used it for squid and it was good, it is rated 8-20lb though. Very light for a rod of that rating though.
I know james has absolutely punished his and it is capable of landing decent sized fish!
Another option would be to step up to an AG-S662ML which is a bit lighter but still cheap, may go over the $100 mark though.

I have also had a crack at the crony rods
The Gundog 7' 8-20lbs and the prodigy 7'. Hopefully should hear good things about the agress 8' 8-20lbs rod soon as it is with my father en route to Wyndham/Mitchell plateau for some fishing soon.
The Gundog and the Prodigy were both great rods for dealing with skippy up to 35cm on the day, with several double headers caught and a fair few squid too!

Proudly Made In China by one
Proudly Made In China by one of Chinas highest quality rod manufacturers, The factory they come from have tight tollerances and take alot of pride in their rods. The blanks Crony use are very sensitive Toray blanks , one feel and you can tell what sets them asside from other rods in the price range. They also include some really nice looking threadwork that you rarely ever see from off the rack rods.
Check out the video of some dead weight lifting of a couple of the models,

People have tested them as I
People have tested them as I did not want to jump in to the market without getting broad feedback further than my own opinion. All these opinions are completely unbiased I can assure you and I have never once said to anyone to say anything good when they do not feel that way, all I have asked from these people is to have a try and give me their opinion!

No problems i was just
No problems i was just wondering about the materials it was made of of around the reel seat area and whether they will be subject to corrosion, hence the question.
I was impressed with the video of the rods holding 20 kilo weight.
