New boat

Hi guys,

I have just commited to buying an Excedo M210 fisher... 50hp Bigfoot 4 stroke..

Very difficult to find any info regarding these boats..

Has anyone used them... seen them even???  Any info would be greatly appreciated..

One of my mates took this 1 out for a sea trial and was extremely impressed...  There is only 1 for sale.. gumtree... Deposit paid and pickup in about 2 weeks!!!

This 1 will be used out of Carnarvon... in close.. right out to islands and the shoals...

Would they ride or compare to something like the Southwind for example?

Different

Thats for sure, looks alright. should be stable with plently of room for the walk around fishing. Good reverse chines to keep the water down.

Looks relaxing and ideal for a few drinks too. Congrates on the purchess.

Yeah bit of an odd one. I

Yeah bit of an odd one. I looked at that awhile ago.

Its a panga, and that makes it southwind-ish, but I think that one has a full-length wider keel, so that makes it more like the ST580.

It will probably slap a bit in the chop and they really hit that boat with the ugly stick!

Definately different

Sun, 2012-11-04 17:49

Yeah definately different.. lol

But I was thinking if it was trimmed right, it should get over the choppy sh.t...

Heaps of space for fishing.. but also seats 8... so I can also fit my missus (god forbid) and the rest of my 52000 kids on her for an afternoon sesh out in the shallows... Only draws 12" of water apparently..

The owner has really looked after it and spent quite a bit of money on her.... (like everyone that owns a boat) lol...

I already have a stainless bow rail to fit up... and then will probably try and find an anchor winch to fit up also... MUST have the free spooling option though...  Any ideas? Costs?

Hi Dooma, ive only just joined here and just curious to know the name of this boat as I can not zoom/focus in to see. Is it by chance Force Majure ? Also if not rude to ask what price you got it for. If it's her then I have it at present. Great boat by the way

 Have seen many boats

Sun, 2012-11-04 17:51

Have seen many boats similar, they nearly all handle pretty similar, great under way and heading into waves but they are very rocky at rest and tend to broach if your coming back with the sea. How old is the motor? has it had the powerhead removed yet to replace the water tube grommet that closes over?

^ As above I think ... great

^ As above I think ... great underway but not so good for drifting etc .. I like the concept myself though.. southwind etc, maybe suited better for northern waters but i like it.

Drifting

Sun, 2012-11-04 20:00

We don't do a lot of drifting where the boats home will be, mostly anchor and fish because if you drift over a school of fish you will split it and after a couple of drifts they will have all scattered.

Yeah, Ive been watching it

Mon, 2012-11-05 08:47

Yeah, Ive been watching it for nearly 2 years...  lol... took me that long to work up the courage to buy something that I couldnt find bugger all info on....

Seatrials checked out... so what the heck!!!

The owner has had a gazillion people look at her.. but all pulled out of the sale because "it just looks funny"...

Im not so vain!! lol...  If it works, and does the job... Can get me out to the islands, the creeks, the shallows and can easily beach launch...  I think Im onto a winner, as she will get used a shit load... instead of having a larger boat, more so only suited to islands or out wide... and always relying on others to come out with me just so its cheaper and easier to launch...  This way I can go out whenever I want on my own!!!

Nothing that an angle grinder and a pre made center console couldn't fix. ha!

That little 50 might work a bit hard when its loaded up for the long trips.

No more pics

Wed, 2012-11-07 08:09

I dont have any more pics as yet, as I dont pick her up until the 23rd Nov when I get down to Perth...

But when I do have her... Ill post up a few more, and also post up a review of how she handles etc...

Tony...  even though she is only a 50hp... Apparently she is good enough as it is a bigfoot version of the 50.. Apparently designed to push heavier loads etc... commercially..  I agree.. that was the first thing I was worried about.. and thought I was going to be up for a new donk around the 70 - 90hp range...  Stef thought the same.. then actually put her in the water for a sea trial.. he was extremely surprised at how well that lil 50hp pushed her along!!!  It may not be quite as fast as she could possibly go.. but at least she'll be economical!!  Still got her up to 27knots I think he said...  Being an open boat without any protection.. thats plenty fast enough for me!!       (for now )

Unless you want to sell me "cheap" that sweet 110hp 4stroke yammie you have there!!!!   lol

As long as it gets you out

Fri, 2012-11-09 16:52

As long as it gets you out doing what you love safely, that's all that matters.

Be very interested to see how this thing goes.

All the best.

Looking forward

Fri, 2012-11-09 18:21

I'm looking forward to seeing it and how it performs. From what I can see it should be a good boat for up here.
