New to Exmouth!

Hi everyone!

Attached is the picture of a big tuna caught in the Mauritian water by my dear skipper. I'm new to this website. I've been to Exmouth in April but I was limited to Landbase fishing, which was also amazing. This December, I'm going with some mates with a 16' Glasscraft, very excited! We use to fish a lot back in Mauritius and we can say that Australia is so far one of the best place for fishing! We want to catch some big fishes this time, tuna sailfish, wahoo, mako...

Can you tell me some general tips for Exmouth for this types of fishing? Any suggestions would be really great!

Thanks

Hi Dodo,

Top first post mate.  In December you will have to watch the weather a little as to which side of the cape to fish.  If possible get to Tantabiddi and fish for marlin with teasers and pushers from the 50m line to about 130m.  Keep an eye on your gps for contour lines and areas you think might cause currents to push up over ledges and where baitfish might be holding.  The fish might not be there yet, but you can bet that they will.  Rule number 1 is, find where the 'fridge' is and the big fish wont be far away.

If you want big marlin, you can head anywhere from the 100 to the 1000's, a lot more hit and miss, but theres blue marlin up to 350kg out there.

Cheers,

Adam

Thanks for these precious advices boys! Can't wait til December! We're gonna tow the boat at home this week-end, then we have to register it and its trailer. We didn't totally understand how it works to register the boat, does it have to pass through the pit?
