New fishing rules

I've just received an e-mail saying Norman More is going to ignore the promise Colin Barnett and Troy Buswell made in the last few weeks of the election about doing a review of this policy before it was implemented. The e-mail said our new Fisheries minister was going to sign off on the Labour party's new rules without any changes for the Recreational fisher people, this stinks, actually it smells just like labour. It looks like another load of lies from these wankers, once a polly always a liar.

Hi Ya,

I have just two things to say about this.

1 - Buyer (in this case, voter) beware

2 - You know when a politician is lying, his lips are moving.

Cheers.

The true story?

Tue, 2008-09-30 13:52

But Hal Harvey has posted in http://www.westernangler.com.au/forum/fb.asp?m=201519 30 September 2008 9:58:16. The emphasis is mine, is not in the original post by Hal.

Minister for Fisheries, Norman Moore has clarified that his position at the moment is that he is in the process of assessing the Jon Ford package, is looking at changes and has not made his final decision.

He has willingly had several conversations with members of the recreational fishing community in the past week, and has had their concerns clearly conveyed to him. Please keep the above in mind when communicating with your local MPs.

It is not correct at this time to say that the original plan will go through unchanged.

Norman Moore was handed this as a final package from the previous government. It can't be easy to have to make such a major decision in such a short space of time.

I'm sure Hal thinks its a true story, but he might be a bit close to the party.

Perhaps it was just a coincidence, but the libs didn't even offer to review the regs until after the beatup on wangler and other sites and his wife is an elected member for the libs.

Who knows, perhaps some dinner chat at the Harvey's worked its way to one of the lib  apparachik, and they realised there were a few cheap votes to be had in representing difference?

After all, it was the lib's John Howard who coined the term non-core promise.

ONE DAY TO GO !!!

Tue, 2008-09-30 13:58

By the way Norman Moore is going to sign off on this as early as tomorrow, Wednesday 1st October 2008. What a prick, no time to do anything about it.

Did you really expect them to review the changes. I always thought it would be an empty promise to get the voters on side.

So many fishing spots. Not enough sickies!!!!!!!

As above, lets all phone our local politians and put our view over, its not so much the closer of the V5 fish, its more the discrimination allowing the stokes to be caught and Killed by pros, and the recreationals having to live under an other set of rules,if anyone has the new ministers number, post it here please. I for one will phone him,at least then I'm going down with a fightYelljersey

They had a bit on the radio news this morning but I didnt quite catch it. It sounded like he was considering something though. Thought I heard something along the lines of "but we still need to implement measures" so it sounded like there would be some changes, but most would remain? I'll keep an ear out for the actual announcement (was on 96fm is anyone else is listening today, it should pop up again)
