New reel
Picked up a new Penn Affinity 4000 from Oceanside yesterday. What a sweet little reel. Met Honshu. Nice guy, great shop. Any suggestions for a light spinning rod to match up with the Penn anyone. Didn't get a chance to ask Honsu as I had to race off to an appointment at the Australian Marine Complex. I don't if anyone has been there lately, but that would be one, great, landbased fishing spot. Only trouble is, with the navy seting up there in a big way, I don't think there is anyway you are going to get to fish off the groynes there. There of hundreds of metres of groynes, dropping straight into 11 metres of water. Must be something in there. the Regards Colin Hay

Nice to meet you too Colin.
Nice to meet you too Colin. Hehe...you looked right you glanced at everything, picked up the reel and gone in a flash. There's a huge range of rods out there to suit. Probably the best value rods is the Berkley Dropshot series as they have a longer butt section than most "bream" rods and will match up to the 4000 Affinity nicely. Of coz they are plenty to choose from, when you're down this way again I'll show you the range and others as well.

Thanks Honshu
Thanks Honshu, That sounds good. Don't know when I will be back down that way again, hopefully fairly soon. Hopefully I won't have to rush off next time. Visiting your shop I felt like a kid in a lolly store. All the best Colin
