New Rig

Been looking at getting a kayak for a while, bit for local fishing but particularly for a three month long service leave trip over east next year. Scored this one off Gumtree today for a good price, at 12 foot it's a fair sized yak but I wanted something that was capable of carrying a couple of kids around sheltered waters. Will start to kit it up with a few bits and pieces over the next few months, I'm not intending on going too crazy on it... that's the plan though. If anyone has some bits they want to offload flick me a PM... wouldn't mind a cheap trolley and anchor to start with

Nice Kayak
Gday Ben,
Nice looking yak there. I have the Mini-x Version. Not sure if you have seen but you can get an Xwing for them, it is a console that has sounder and gps sections as well as rod holders, battery box and cup holders. It really does make a good kayak great.
cheers

Nice one Ben - was thinking of the same for the light inshore fishing/exercise with my older boy! Let me know how it goes .... interested in knowing how much it'll end up costing you

Yep have seen the X-Wing,
Yep have seen the X-Wing, they look pretty practical and aren't priced too bad either. Not sure if I'll head that way yet, will probably do a few small mods and if I find I'm using it more than I thought then I'll look into more work on it or look at a more long-term investment.
Hesh, will keep you in the loop. Picked this one up for just under $600 and I'm just starting to research what costs what. After a few trips on the water I'll have more of an idea of what I need.
