New to WA in need of advice

Hi
I've just moved to Perth from Ireland, I was wondering if anyone can suggest somewhere I can catch some decent sized fish from land.
I've been out to Fremantle a few times and fished the North Mole but haven't caught anything decent out that way, it didn't look like anyone was having much luck other then a few small herring.
I'm looking for a spot within a 2-hour drive of Perth or maybe a bit further if it's a really good spot.
Looking forward to and would really appreciate any advice or any stories you can share.
Cheers

Welcome
Hi wack88 and welcome,
There are plenty of great spots both around Perth and within a couple of hours. Personally, I rarely fish metro these days - but searching the forums and new reports will always keep you in the loop as to where they are biting.
Out of town, if you are heading north - Yanchep and Two Rocks are great places to start. Further north, Moore River, Ledge Point, Seabird, Lancelin....all accessible for a days fishing. Southside, Secret Harbour, Madora Bay, Singleton are popular spots and regularly turn up tailor and mulloway.
It really depends what you want to target though.
If you want some local fun, chasing bream or flathead on light tackle in the river is a great day out. I generally fish the Murray for bream, but the Swan consistently produces good fish up and down the river. Plenty of tailor in the Swan too, and if you're lucky....you might find a mulla.
Good luck!

where abouts in the
where abouts in the swan do you live?
because there is mulloway, but on cott groyne there is gummies, tailor and on storms of north mole you get pinkies, you can go to mindarie. E shed hasn't been to bad latley with mulloway but woodman point(ammo Jetty) is also a good spot with big fish
hope this helps and good luck.
Be patient and calm - for no one can catch fish in anger

Take a wander up to the causeway (bridge just north of you) with your flick rod tommorow. There's some good bream around the pylons there & from all around Harrison island. Typical beach outfit will do fine for gummies, mulloway, tailor etc. 12ft 6-10kg rod, 8000 size spin reel spooled up with 25-30 lb line, braid is my choice but go with whatever works for you. 40-60 lb leader is the norm.
Just because I smile & nod does not mean I believe the crap coming out of your mouth.
