well the rumers where that the waters gettin warmer and the mackys should be here soon so i went out off hillerys for a bit of a troll. a constant 21.5 degrees of water but not even a hint of a fish. did see 2 bait schools but nothing else happinin. that was in the 18-28m depth anyway. trolled hillerys to past 3 mile, then just went for a bit of a run out deeper on the way back to see if i could sound any schools or fish but didnt see sweet f.a. did get a flat head near the ramp but so didnt go home empty handed.

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

welcome to the endless trolling in a empty bucket club boys!
haha knew it was coming after last years little swaray, called the best bloody mackie year in living memory.
This year will sort the men from the boys,as we have been trolling for them since 1999, in the metro area, every year without fail.
some years ,it will test even the most keen ( read fishing nutcase) ie , me!
but its true that if I have to pick a " normal time" to start trying it would be start of january.
sometimes they come in a sudden rush and the main run only lasts a month or so, other times they build slowly
and can last until april or so ( our lastest month for a catch)
so put ya tutu, s aside, ladies , set the speed to 6-8 knots, and get used to catching weed, the macko season is here
