A timely reminder

Have seen this clip before and definately this, or a similar clip, should be shown as compulsory when a 17/18 year old first gets thier licence.

I don't see why they had to run over than many people to make the video? Surely that defeats the purpose?

In all seriousness though, it sends a strong and valid point.

Strong and valid point!!!

I agree there.... But disagree with the number of people being shown run over defeating the purpose. Not sure if those comments were in jest (Hopefully they were) but being someone that has been first on the scene, and someone that has also had a friend pass in similar circumstances, that clip really hit home.

As deepwater said we see too much of this in the news on a daily basis.... Sorry for the rant but we are babysitting 2 of our grandkids tonight and wife and I were having a conversation about something similar and it hit home.

Yeh, that was my inappropriate sense of humour. I was refering to the footage and suggesting how they might have made it but obviously did not...

Road safety is a serious matter.

About the people getin run over, I think some people need the repeat so that they learn, but it gives the clip an action style which makes it more entertaining than shocking.

It's def one of the most dramatic clips I've seen

Mon, 2010-11-22 09:34

I could be wrong, but I tend to think it is a combo of a lot of other previous adds over the years. I have to say i got a bit emo watching that, having lost someone very special to me to such antics/driving, it's not something you forget. Hopefully those that need to get the point, do.

Timely Reminder

Tue, 2010-11-23 21:00

Driving Long Distances and Entertaining clients are part of my job.

Simple:

Never Drink and Drive

Always stop every two hours for half an hour.

Have a Power Nap in a Truck Bay if needed, amazing how much better I feel even if it is only for half an hour.

This Christmas please: "Take Two" before putting yourself in any situation.

Really isn't as graphic as what I think they should show. But certainly more in the right direction. I remember not that long ago a general compilation was done of these sort of things showing all those things you do in the car...reading a map, texting, talking etc. and the ramifications. Would make you cry, but definitely the sort of thing new drivers need to see before they get out on the road.

Holly Shit!  That is pretty powerfull.  I'm not excusing young people but I'm not sure how we can change the attitudes of younger drivers?  I remember the first few years after I got my license.  Maybe times have changed since and I wouldn't have been so stupid on the road now (if I was young again)???   But - For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone with a few years of experience under their belt would drink and drive or take stupid risks on the roads???  I got over that crap a long time ago but I know guys my age and older still doing stupid things on the road???  I don't think it will ever stop unfortunately.

Very hard hitting stuff. I wish everyone could act properly on the roads, unfortunately one irresponsible person can cause so much damage. Too many people in a rush. I'm only 25yrs old and can honestly say I have tried to drive responsibly since the first day I got into a car...

Im a big fan of the hoon laws in Vic (not sure if they are in WA) but i would love to see them made even harsher. If your caught doing a ridiculous amount over the speed/alcohol/drug limit that should be it.. by by license forever, no second chance. I bet you alot of the f%#k wits on the road would pull there heads in. The road rules are not that hard to follow.
