So the other thread is getting too big to navigate through so here is one for the finals...
This is how i see it going down,
Geelong to beat Hawks, Coll to beat West, Saints to beat Swans, Ess to beat Carlton
West to beat Ess, Hawks to beat Saints
Geelong to beat West, Hawks to beat Coll
Geelong to beat Hawks in the granny, it will be a cracker though!!
Joel Selwood to win the norm smith...

My finals tips are going well....Not! 0 from 3.
Was a good game of footy yesterday. WCE didn't play too bad. Pies weren't too convincing at all. I'd be sitting pretty as a Geelong supporter right now.
Carn the Bombers today! But if my tips are anything to go by, the Blues will get up. Sorry PattyT.

Pretty bad result for the dons today, but in all fairness I think Carlton are a pretty good side and Essendon are still a mid table side. Hopefully the boys have a good pre-season and continue to improve next year. I HOPE the eagle smash Carlton next week, had the pleasure of sitting next to an absolute pig of a Carlton supporter today that ruined every one around him's day at the footy. Had no idea at all about football, just thought it would be a good idea to get in every Essendon suppoters face! I gave him a spray when he left before the siren... he's excuse for not staying for his teams song was the traffic... TOOL!

Yep he had a shocker, its amazing how much the intensity steps up in finals. He will be better for the experience and be much better on Saturday you'd think. I think that both Heppell and Shuey are gonna be great players.. I hope Heppell ends up in the midfield in a few years, could potentially be like pendleberry (Hopefully). He did pretty well for an 18year old today...

i was at the game yesterday and was very worried when we had all the ball and only managed 5 behinds then the bombers had the ball for 3 minutes and they got 3 goals. I thought I was in for a looooong afternoon surrounded by lots of bombers supporters. They all shut up pretty quickly though.
Carlton are a god team but they lack the intensity. They switch off and let teams get the better of them, we wont be able to do that against the eagles. If they are on form it should be a cracking match. Good to see Juddy finally do something, he has been very quiet of late – by his standards

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to watch the game yesterday but I'm hoping the Eagles can put up a bit more of a fight this weekend thean the Bombers did. Hopefully, either way, it ends up being a good game. As an Eagles supporter, I already feel pretty satisfied with the season we've had. If we bow out this weekend, although it will be slightly dissapointing, I'm not too bothered. We've done alright I reckon!
I have a feeling that Carlton will win but if my tips are anything to go by, the Eagles already have it in the bag.

The Eagles won't lose at home unless we sustain more injuries. With Kerr back it will add a steady gun to the centre. But alas the Cats will end our run.Bloody good year of footy and they will be dangerous next year.

Cannot believe what has happened to Harvey... Ross Lyon has dogged him hard!! Same management company which would be tough to swallow for harvey... WOW!! I reckon Harveys a good coach too, wonder how long it takes for me to start turning off freo game because they are playing "saints footy". Dont know what they expected harvey to do with all those injuries this season... Might be afew unhappy players as well

Well I've sat back and waited, and waited, and waited for the Eagle faithful to smack talk this weeks game.
Early last week after the Pies were flogged by the Cats and the mighty WCE pumped the Crows, the shite was flowing thick and fast: Eagles vs Cats GF, WCE to roll the Pies in the QF, Woosha for PM (admittedly he would probably do a better job than Juliar), Shuey for the rising star etc.
By Thursday the sphincters tightened and footy talk stopped, maybe some realised the reality of playing the reigning premier on the rebound would be a tough ask. After the win, a few token posts but very quiet, some original protagonists haven't been heard from since.
This week when you should roll the Blues at home, their's been bugger all talk. The fear of going out in straight sets must be strong.....
For what its worth, I'm tipping WCE to roll the blues by 15 points and the Hawks/Swans to be tight (can't pick a winner but hoping for Sydney as a Pies supporter).

Agree there John, tonights came is going to be really close. Goodes 300 games, is buddy going to play? Lots of variables (I got free tickets so im wrapped). I think the swannies might pinch it by under a goal. As far as the other game West Coast to win by around 20pts

I think Carlton might get up this weekend but my tips heven't been to good this year (or any year for that matter). With 0 from 4 last week, I'm on fire. I'm hoping WC get up and I'm not dure about the Hawks/Sydney game. Wouldn't mind seeeing either team go through.

It could all turn around again next year. Dockers finish above the Eagles and maybe even win a final? Highly unlikely.
For what it's worth, I think getting a proven coach couldn't have come soon enough. This is the first time they've had a "senior" coach with past senior coaching experience isn't it?

and it was pretty much the end of an era in which the Hawks won 8 premierships in 20yrs, including 7 straight grand finals 83'-89'.

Eagles have a 4-0 record against the Cats in finals including 92 and 94. Not sure records will count for much next weekend though. I think the biggest thing in WCE favour is that the Cats are coming off the bye and a few weeks back after their bye was when Sydney beat them.
You never know.
I wonder what sort of odds you would have got at the start of the season for a WC vs Hawks GF? or WC vs pies? Hmmmm? A fair bit.

I heard an interesting stat on the radio today saying that 46 of last 48 teams to make the top four have made it to the prelims, its definitely shows the ladder doesnt lie.

geelong are definantly better then carlton your right BJ. but you have to give credit to them and the eagles, it was a ripper of a game where no one took a backward step. just that kind of pressure can destroy even the best well drilled sides on anyday.
If the eagles turn up switched on from the start and hit the ball just as hard, the game could go either way. thats what finals footy is all about.
we're one up on them this year and lets hope we make it 2 up.
