One big ass great white

Went for a fish off two rocks this morning. Out around the 50s, just after the skipper landed a good size dhuie a huge great white shark came up to the boat to check us out. One of the most memorable events of my fishing career.

Stayed with us for around 2 minutes. Have seen them on news, photos etc... But seeing one in real life up close is nothing short of amazing.

This great white must have been pushing 5 meters.

makes me think twice now before I stick my hands in the ocean for a wash.

Insane animal. I had a gw try take a pink snapper as it was coming up to the boat at night fishing with my dad. Scared the absolute Shit out of me. Banged its tail into the side of the boat trying to get it.

i learnt whilst up in coral bay recently that a white is just as smart as a german shepherd. Got me thinking..... is that a good thing or a bad thing.....

Have had a few swim under the boat in years gone past and recently one decided to take my floating burley bucket pulled the boat sideways for a bit till I cut the cord attached to the floating burley bucket gave the deckie the scare of his life, amazeingly the shark took the bucket under the water and bits of plastic came to the surface later.

I m not worried about the ones I see its the ones that hangaround that I dont see

I'ld like to see a GW

Sun, 2013-06-30 00:43

I think if you see one in the flesh so as to speak then you should consider yourself privileged. And live to tell of the experience that is.
If you can get a picture up it would be good.
