One Championship- 8 Man Kickboxing

Genuinely excited about this. This aint no Danny Green vs Boxcar Bob and these are some of the best muay thai fighters in the world and Yod is up there with, if not, the best ever.
One Championship has a weight cutting ban so all fighters will be 'walking weight', hydrated and hitting hard but it's not full Thai rules so no clinching.
Ones to watch out for are the legend Yod, the mad Russian Dzhabar and Petchmorakot who beat 5x Lumpinee champion Saenchai and is a 2x Lumpinee champ himself. Lumpinee stadium in BKK is basically the MCG Grand Final of Thailand where only the best of the best fight. I was lucky enough so get ringside seats there in 2008 before they knocked down the old stadium which was insane.
It is free to watch through the One Championship app and starts at 5pm tonight.

Thanks
Didnt know it was on. Luv my muay thai and have trained in Thailand with the traditional guys as well as the junk we serve up here. Would luv to see baucaw fight. The greatest of all time imo but yod is an amazing technician. I dont think people understand the years it takes to develop that sort of skill set fitness and conditioning

Buakaw is my favourite
Buakaw is my favourite closely followed by JWP. A few of the boys at my old gym flew over and trained at Por Pramuk and met the man himself. Apparently it's next to a piggery and effing stinks and the lads said the sound of him kicking the bag is like a shockwave.

Jwp
Jwp was a pioneer along with ramon decker. If you havent seen his doco its a must see. When he went back to see his thai parents he still wasnt allowed to sit on the couch. Laughed my ass off. He talks about the lompini crowd chanting white mans gonna die just before he got in the ring for his first fight. Absolute legend

Yeah saw it at the cinema,
Yeah saw it at the cinema, Blessed with Venom. Yep absolute legend in and out of the ring and I got to see him live against a very ring rusty Daniel Dawson a few years ago. Picked him apart like a cobb loaf. My current coach drew with JWP and watching the video would have clearly won if it was in WA.

Humble
Still very humble. A lot of these ufc diks could learn alot from him. Always in awe of these blokes who male it look so easy. Trained my ass off and still a hack lol.

Limited clinch is K1 isn’t it?
That was like the American version as it keeps the fight more interesting instead of heaps of stationary knees. Didn’t Daniel Dawson leave MT and take up boxing? I’ve been out of the loop since heading bush. Makes me feel like watching Ong-Bak again.

Yeah I didn't enjoy it as
Yeah I didn't enjoy it as much with no elbows and limited clinch. Need to at least allow them enough time to setup a decent knee or a sweep from the caught kick. For the thai boys it was like telling Ponting he isn't allowed to hook or pull.
Dawson made a comeback to muay thai against JWP in 2016 but he runs a gym in Perth and was the MT coach so must have kept his hand in. He did well though with some nice hand combos.
