going up to shark bay in a couple of weeks, wondering what the best size bottom sinker would be for fishing around 40 metres + ?
Using 30-50lb braid obviously don't want to go to heavy
thanks

I used a large white lead head jig as my sinker up there along with the other hook further up and it went off. Usually baited the jig with a piece of bait, but there were a few times it was chased down on the retrieve.

I would imagine anything from
I would imagine anything from 14 - 20 oz depending on the currents.
I have fished up North with 32 oz purely because of current, not wind.

8oz to as large as you
8oz to as large as you need.
I usualy keep 8 through 24oz on hand and change them depending on the depth and conditions. I run a loop at the bottom of my paternosta to attach the sinker. Makes for an easy changover of sinkers. If the loop is left large enough you can even double up on sinkers if need be.
Best of luck up there........ I will be there around the same time

a few points that need to be
a few points that need to be known. where are you going to be fishing, what currents are likely to be around and are you going to be anchoring up or drifting.
your best bet would be to take various sizes with you , ranging from 8oz to i would say no more than 16oz but your not likely to use that size unless your going to fish in the main channel out near the bent peg . we mainly used 8 and 12 when we fished there
