pb mulla

went out in the sound friday night searching for snapper and with shit weather we thought we would anchor close to woodies jetty with all the mulloway reported there recently.
so we anchored up and burley up, had the usual plague of rays and banjos with a couple of bite offs from toothys, i decided to go a bit lighter on my leader and whacked on an old bit of squid with it being in the water for no more than 5 minutes my trinidad started screaming, set the hooks and new straight away it was no sting ray.
10 minutes later a big mulloway was in the boat :)
it measured 130cm and im guessing 20kg+, did weigh it but it was very heavy.

fish that get to about that size are prob close to 30 kg. great fish well done

Brilliant mate would love my first mulla to be like that been putting the hours in too . I have been told that it's getting too late for them I am mostly LB and am down in mandurah might have to give woodies jetty ago I hear a few have been landed from the ammunition jetty in kwinana if any one has any advice on rigs baits and spots south of perth will b much appreciated

haha i was at woodies friday
haha i was at woodies friday night and saw you guys anchored just past casting distance from the jetty. Smart choice fishing in everyones berly path, I was fishing close to shore had a live squid on lost a mulla had him hooked for a good couple of minutes before spitting the hooks, they were deffinately around!
