I have the penn 950ss american and I been trying to find some specs. Does it have the same specs as the chinese model. I'm chasing after how much drag..
I am under the impression the drag material is HT100, a carbon fiber material in wide use thought the industry. For the 950 & 850 (I have an 850) you could make an argument that more washer sets would have been nice. I haven't hooked a marlin on it or a 50lb Mack on it yet - happy not to - but the drags should provide good service for intended use of a $100 reel. Fish the hell out of it, and give the drag a little love along the way, a clen now and again. If it stuffs up hang it up in ur shed for all the memories it will give you.
