TACKLE BOXES
trying to figure out what would be the best tackle box.
I have a boat (670 bar crusher ht) but when we go out fishing i like to have every opition avaliable to me. i think it might be due to to much gear but thats bullshit you can never have enough.
Ive got gear for bottom bouncing (minus sinckers) jigging(already got bags for jigs) casting lures (twistys, poppers etc) deep deep drop gear.trolling etc.
You name it Ive got it. but i need a tackle box to hold enough gear to support a little bit of everything.
ive already got four tackle boxes. One for the river, one for light shore bash, one for heavy shore bash, and one for shallow water fishing(10-25m water)
but its the big tackle box thats hard to find plus there not cheap not to worried about price as long as its good.

I just picked up a Plano 797
I just picked up a Plano 797 for $149 which is very cheap. It's the biggest hard case that Plano make and top of the range as well. The body is actually the same as the 787 and a few other models below but it's the smaller boxes that come with it to fit in the compartments. They are all Water proof. I waited ages for this special as I had my eye on it for a long time so I'm stoked. I got it for just about the same thing as what you are after.

I'm in the same position I
I'm in the same position
I prefer bags with plastic boxes which slide out, but every tackle bag I've owned the zips keep seizing up from salt and breaking and I do wash them down. Part of the problem with a centre console boat is salt spray always gets over your gear

Given up on tackle boxes. I
Given up on tackle boxes. I use the large segregated plastic containers and they all stack in a sealable tub on the boat. For beach I do have a tiny box and try to keep gear minimal so I can carry back the huge Mulla I'm gonna get one day ;)

bags are the way too go
there is much more room in a bag than the biggest box you can get! i bought my tackle bag 5 years back and its strill going strong! i would have broken three boxes in that time! plastic and rough seas dont go too well together

Yeah Sea - Kem , pretty big
They are same to the spacecase box for utes. 900l x 550w x 380h. Strong enough to sit on and waterproof. I was looking at getting one but then got a bigger space case box off gumtree for $200 near new to put my tools etc in the cockpit of the boat instead of those bloody palstic tubs that keep breaking.
You could just get smaller tackle boxes etc (have one set up for deep sea, one for whiting/squidding), reels , deep sea alvey etc and chuck them all in. I think they are about 180litres and lockable.
