Perth Tigers
Sherbert and myself went for a fish last night to one of our spots north of Perth .The fishing was slow with some tailor coming on the bite at sunset and for the next few hours, with nothing happening and with the predicted wind change at 2 am we decided to hit the swags.
Sherbs woke me not long after as the wind had changed and he had got a balloon out. I had my first balloon out about 30 minutes later and waited for some action. In the next couple of hours I had a couple of big runs and ended up getting bitten off. The next balloon went out and I was hit about 600mtrs off the beach. In half an hour I had landed my first shark off the beach , the fact it was a 192 cm Tiger made it all the sweeter.
Sherbs was next up with his bait getting nailed about 300 mtrs out and nearly getting spooled on its first run , 45 mins later he too had a Tiger of 189 cm on the beach.
Both sharks were measured under the rules of our club , " The Perth Land Based Game Fishing Club""which gave us weights of 95kg and 91kg . It took some time to get both sharks back into the water but once we got them past the first breaker they both swam off.

For ballooning I use a 7' 8'' 20-50lb class boat rod and a 24kg live fibre and of the beach I use a 12' sensor surf for spinning and a 15' overhead saltiga surf.
