Petition handed over to Opposition.
Submitted by Jabba Jabba on Fri, 2009-07-10 13:38
The petiton as it stands at the moment has been handed over to Mr John Robert Quigley MLA, Member for Mindarie, Australian Labor Party during a meeting with him today.
The duplicate signatures were removed, so at the time of printing out there were 483 signatures.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to voice their opinion.
The petiton is still active and will be given to the Norman Moore, so hopefully we can get more responces over the next week.

Well done everyone
Yes thank you Jaba for your efforts. I can confirm what you have said and that a genuine interest was taken. As a result I believe a meeting could take place in the near future. It was a good cross section of ideas and general comments on what is currently proposed.
Please keep us informed as there is more to come.
Cheers

HuggyB, gotto try something,
HuggyB, gotto try something, do something. Anyone who thinks slugging boaties will help fish stocks is mistaken. It's clearly a money grab. The Minister admits that he is trying to price people out of fishing to achieve the 50% catch reduction, what a crock!
This isn't constructive, it's financial discrimination, it's revenue raising in the guise of conservation. I have 13yo 10yo and 10 week old kids, if I thought this measure would secure fish stocks so my kids can enjoy the lifestyle we all have had to date then I'd be all for it but it isn't going to do that is it?
I'm not going to go on about what I think should happen..... theres plenty of geniuses on these forums with all the answers. The petition is a great snap shot of peoples opinions, and Australians are great "middle of the road" people. Most people are voicing sensible ideas and concerns. I only hope that the pollies have a look and realise that the population isn't stupid and can come up with something that will work and isn't an insult to our intelligence

Hi Jabba
well all my emails have gone on deaf ears, haven't had a response from Moore as yet, Dream weaver has from the opposition but haven't heard anybody so far from the Liberal Party ???? deaf ears maybe?? they'll have deaf heads when they are voted out next election and turn around and say why.
Sit down and write down all the price hikes we have had since the Liberals have come into power and then add the new fishing licenses plus crayfish, netting etc and you'll be floored, I did and its disgusting to say the least. Forgot plus all Council increases due to the Liberals price hikes.

Roberta, Talking about all
Roberta,
Talking about all the cost increases, boat registration has gone up a million %, just extorinate fees, that have been introduced by the Libs. They will definately be getting the boot next election and you know something, it can come quick enough.
