Pink Salmon Fillets

Ok guys,

Wife gets home at 10pm tonight from a hard hard day at work while i sat on my ass at home and did jack diddly squat all day due to the weather sucking....

So I wanna make her dinner for her so i can give it to her when she gets home...

Of course i wanna feed myself and I got these salmon fillets I wanna use... nothing flash, just a couple of thick steaks however.. I dont wanna piss fart around with hard shit.. I just wanna quick effective way to cook em up the best I can with the best taste for em...

Thinking of serving on a bed of rice with some vegies too but yeah.. any ideas on a quick efficient easy way to cook these up with some great flavour would rock... and im not too stupid... i just got limited experience at cooking fish so.. if you can point me to some stuff to add in the fry pan to make it lush or any other ways... it would be much appreciated!

Oven Salmon

Rickets, I have just the best recipe for Salmon.
One of Jamie Olivers so it is easy peasy & better than any in restaurant. Takes 5 minutes to prepart and 10 to cook.
Will scan it and post up. Give me 5 mins or so.

Hi Ya, Long 5 minutes!!!!!

Hi Ya,

Long 5 minutes!!!!!  :-))))

I know it is several days since your original post Rickets, but here is how I do salmon.  Easy as.

Lay a large piece of alfoil on the bench.
Sprinkle a small amount of olive oil on it.
Lay the salmon on the oil and then turn the salmon over.
Sprinkle on some salt and pepper
Add some garlic salt or chilli flakes depending on plans for after. :-))
Sprinkle on a good quantity of parsley.  Fresh or dried doesn't matter.
Add some herbs to taste.  Just about any herbs will do.  If not herbs, try lemon pepper.
If you want, peal and slice an onion and add a few rings.
I have also added tomato but wasn't so keen on that.
Fold the alfoil over so you have a fully enclosed envelope.
Put it on a tray and into a moderate oven for about 10 minutes.

Will come out very soft, juicy and quite delicious.  In my opinion.

You can substitute butter for the olive oil.

Cheers.

all I do with Tassie Salmon

Wed, 2007-09-26 17:53

all I do with Tassie Salmon fillets is chuck some sea salt on one side with some crack pepper and olive oil. straight onto the hot plate (i have a temperature gage from 1 - 10 and have it on 7). takes about 5 minutes each side (don't let it over cook - you can keep an eye on how well it's cooking by watching the sides as you'll notice it changing colour. After 5 minutes each side I chuck them on onto the other sides and cook for roughly 3 minutes. An easy way to see how cooked they are is to cut with a knife through the thickets part. I've eaten them plenty of ways but on the hot plate would be the tastiest by far and bloody easy - if you can buy them with the skin still on makes it even better because you make it crunchy - making me hungry now, might have to head down the local fish shop and grab a couple.
