Places up North ?

Hey Guys !

Need some advice.  We are due to head down to Albany next week for our yearly boys weekend away ( The BOYCOTT ) but the weather is already looking terrible, so I have suggested to the boys that we head North to try and find some nicer weather.  Only problem is I/we have never even fished past Lancelin.  Where abouts from Lancelin to Shark Bay would be the best place to head for a 5 day trip.  We will be camping and have a 4wd and we will be in a 5.9 runabout. A caravan park would be preferable but I guess if the spots nice camping without power or shower would be fine.

Any Suggestions would be awesome.

Thanks in advance Guys !!!

Take your pick !

Just about every coastal town from Lancelin to Carnarvon has a caravan park, good facilities, and good fishing on its day

Jurien, Leeman both popular locations, lots of fishing options and good boat launching facilities.

Gero, Kalbarri....

Denham a good base to launch boat from - can fish a lot of water in Shark Bay - also Monkey Mia side, and do 4WD trips towards steep point/false entrance

- looks like a chance of a cyclone up north next week - so maybe don't go too far...

Up north looks to be blowing

Up north looks to be blowing its arse off more than down south. Down south doesnt look that bad, stick with the original plan i reckon.

The only place it doesnt look too bad is Shark Bay, a little blowy but swell looks calm compared to anywhere else.

Would it be worth the hike up there ?  I have been before but never for fishing ?

Camp Spot, about 15kms north of Jurien Bay, Will need your own tent etc... But Has toilets. Good spot for some beach fishing and also has a sheltered bay from the southerly.

Cost is only $15 a night so pretty good value....

After much discussion, we have settled on Leeman.  Lots of good reports, but not very specific.  Weather permitting I think we will head toward the ledge that I've heard houses some big Dhuies and Snapper.  Thanks for the responses, any other advice?
