Protecting boat on long trip

Hi All,

We are heading to Exmouth a Christmas and pulling the boat up there for some fishing. My question is, any info on how much protection the boat needs for the trip. I hear road grime can sandblast the hull pretty good.

regards
Kim

I recently took my trophy up to exmouth and the only problems I encountered was that my recent applied sticker started to peel off and I have some bolts on my mudgaurds and license plate come loose

boat wise I didnt notice any damage

I got a good tip recently about putting a sock over your transducer (depends on the size of yours)  as stones can chip the surface giving you crappy readings.

easy to do

Wouldn't worry about protecting the boat, we do exmouth every Xmas and have never had any major issues, biggest concern is the trailer, i replace my bearings before every trip and take spares as well

Yep bearings a must! I had a towable cover made for the boat as well with extra protection for the straps as they can rub and snap. Cut down fuel consumption and you can throw all the lighter stuff in the boat.

Thanks for the replies. Yep, Bearings are on top of things to do in preparation. I will look at something like the deflector. Can't hurt.
