Raymarine A50D

Anyone got one? Any thing to say about them, either good or bad (yes, I've done search....)? More so anyone that runs one from a battery that doesn't get a charge/feed (as that's how mine will be set up), and how long will it last before the battery needs a charge?

I'm thinking of getting one for the new dinghy.

I bought mine when they first came out and have had no problems at all . Having said that since back from this years trip north its not holding the bottom at speed like it did . I have just the 1 battery and have not had power issues with it on all day .

They are heaps cheaper now - around 1k . I like the look of the 70 as the new main screen!

I have the A70D which is the same except fo a bigger screen and I think that it is a first class unit.  The one button menus (only comes on more expensive models of some other brands) are brilliant and scrolling through menus while underway is near impossible for me.  One thing I would recomend is that you seriously consider the A70D over the A50D if your budget can stretch to the $1100.  I reckon I would have trouble viewing the screen underway if it was any smaller (sitting still there is probably no advantage).

You wont regret the Raymarine.
