Surf Fishing near river mouths

Gday,
We are about to head down the beach for a fish in a spot we usually get a few Tailor and Mulloway. After recent rains a couple of local rivers have made it to the sea in this area ( Bowes River, Oakabella, Oakajee etc.) and are still running.
Is fishing in the sea side of the mouths a good thing if they arent flowing to hard or dont the fish like the fresh water?
If so what type of fish are likely to hang around in that area?
Any advice would be great!
Cheers

Was at the bowes 2 nights ago. Not flowing out to sea. Looks like it had been recently though. Had to conpete with alot of weed though. Thinking of going to the Hutt mouth instead.

Nice work Hairyone. I got zip at the Hutt. Picked up some nice Tailor near Horrocks though. Think i might head to Greenough SBend next time i am hunting for Mulloway. How big your Mullas go?
