I have the olderRaymarine SPX-5R sports pilot. Couldnt be happier with it, steers straighter then I ever could haha. It has made the steering a little heavier though when not in use. the EV-100 looks nice
Yes its tied in through the sea talk via my Raymarine head unit. Other units it should be as simple as running the two nmea outputs from the head unit to the auto pilot. I rarely use it though to track a route I just set it on a compass heading and go.

Are you tied into your plotter/GPS?
Im thinking of the NMEA2000 Connection to my Lowrance HDS7. Looking on the intramanet, seems "reasonably" simple.
