Recent deckie thankyou post

Hello,

Just wanted to say a quick thankyou to Rob (letsgo74) and Murray (Murray D) for recent trips out on their boats.

With Rob on Wed last week the first and second drop for me were great on mcarthy soft plastics and nitro elevator heads, scoring a wrasse and then a decent sambo.  After that it was hard to catch a break.  We got undersize pinks, scorpion fish and a single blackarse way off the mark at the end of a drift.

Today with Murray and Bert (Glastronomic) conditions were pretty rough early, but the wind died and it was pretty reasonable for a few hours before the seabreeze kicked in.  We started with some bottom bouncing without much luck - the usual hawrassement and other pickers.  We shifted to a different spot for some whiting and proceeded to get some cracking school whiting coming in on light gear in 20+ mts.  After filling an esky for me, as the others werent keen on taking whiting for a feed, the wind had died so we headed out a bit for some more bottom bouncing.  Regular pickers came over the side but eating fish was hard to come by until yours truly got a nice blackarse and Murray got onto a nice whaler shark over a metre.

A few more drifts and the wind shifted so we were about to head in when I got onto a nice 45cm leatherjacket.

Thanks to Murray and Rob again for the invites.

Bryan

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
