Reel problem Saragosa 8000
Submitted by godders on Fri, 2017-01-27 08:07
Hey guys.
Got a drama with my saragosa 8000. Everytime you go to use the handle sticks for a bit and takes some force to get it to work. Dunno if a bearing has gone. Anyone recommend a place for a service that isnt gonna bust the bank or is it a self fix solution.
Thanks

That's not good news.
I have recently purchased a 6000, and so far so good. It is inconvenient to have to send away for an undetermined time period. But at least they provide backup.

saragosas
are good reels very durable and with shimano i had problems with a sustain 10k alot of problems i highly do not reccomend that reel but i sent it off with a drag clicker problem and they returned the reel about 7 days later so not long at all but then the clicker went again 3 days after so sold the sustain but if u send of your gosa i think you would get it back fixed within a week and a half
wont catch em sitting at home!

sounds like a bearing
and warranty wont cover bearings
go on the boca bearing website and order ceramic rubber sealed bearings to replace them

My sustain does the same
My sustain does the same thing
if not used for a while it's stuck and takes some force to almost crack it and then it works a treat
would this be similar to what is happening with yours

As said above, download the
As said above, download the service form from Shimano, mail the reel and form straight to them. Tell them to diagnose then call you with a cost of repair. It'd still be under warranty so the most you'd pay would be a service fee, bearings if needed (they'll send you the old ones back) and return shipping. I've had an entire gearset replaced for free recently, a week or two is not too long to wait for a near new reel.

Happend to mine origionally. Take it back to where it was purchased and Shimano should take care of it as they did with mine.
