RIP Skinny
In sad news we farewell a WA fisherman in Ian Smith (aka Skinny).
He had great passion for fishing and just loved to get out on the water and get a rod and reel in his hands. He was the type of bloke that would give you the shirt off his back, everyone who knew Skinny would have told you that. We are all better off for knowing you.
I'll miss you and surely remember you every time I wet a line.
My condolences to his family, RIP MATE

A well known and well
A well known and well regarded member of the WA fishing fraternity. Skinny worked at several tackle stores both in Perth and abroad and built a reputation as a fantastic salesman, great fisherman, big talker, but above all... a great bloke. Very generous and willing to help anyone.
Was really looking forward to having a fish with the big fella since he moved back down to Perth... RIP mate.

Very sad to hear this news, I met Skinny a few years ago and he was a top bloke. He sold me his own custom Sabre rod for a song and i use it all the time.
He will be missed by many friends and family.

Me to Jay
Caught on a White snapback on a baitcaster at Point Sampson crossing chasing MJ and barra. That is a whopper to catch that most unusual way.
Edit: No I am wrong I think. It wasnt the big one on SP, this was the one he caught on a life mullet. He sure had fun fishing!!

Skinny
Anyone who's ever been on a fishing trip north/south with him would know there is not a funnier bloke to be found and also a world champion snorer!!!(carnarvon trip 9 days a few years ago!) he was keen to show us the power of his new 20,000 stella and 80lb braid , and he stopped a 70lb spaniard at the lady joyous wreck without it taking more than 10 m of line off his "new" reel LOL!!! R.IP. A very sad loss indeed. Ryan
