Rod type

Alright guys I have the reel, 400te Calcutta , i have the line 30lb whiplash on Honso's recommendation now any advice on a new rod to match. Mostly bottom fishing but plastics are going to be used as well. I was thinking shimano t curve $ wise 250-300

You seem to be doing more bottom bouncing than jigging/plastics so a different, stiffer rod might suit more. Depends on how heavy your sinkers you use are though. I just like the jigging style rods because they're a lot lighter/thinner and have a much nicer action when fighting the fish. They tend to start folding quicker though which is great for keeping pressure on small fish, but not if you're using heavy sinkers. Good idea to play around with a few and see how they feel.

A few choices....
Depends on how heavy sinkers you plan to bottom bounce with but for a reel that size and the odd jigging and soft plastics, check out the following.
Eupro Twincraft 62/4 - PE 1.5-3.0 rated to 120gm jigs.
HR JigForce - PE 1.5-3.0 rated to 120gm jigs (bit more but much nicer jig rod)
FWA Series Jig overhead - PE 1-3 rated to 150gm jigs.
