Generally depends on water temps and stuff, sometimes they come around the corner down at LLeuwin and hit the warm water head on. This sometimes turns them back and sometimes a number of them will continue out wide and bypass Perth all together. When this happens, you suddenly hear of people catching salmon up around Jurien Bay and Geralton etc. This is where they tend to come back in close to the coast. Of course it's more scientific than all that, but that's basically how I understand it.

Been getting them along the capes coast since the first week in March with a few still around. Though this weather doesn't help spotting them.
